Late to the booking game? Want to spend more time drinking with friends instead of touring facilities? If so, this is the perfect package for you.
🥃 Ron's Pro Tip
"The Barrel Crawl is what I recommend when people say 'we've done distillery tours before, we just want to drink good bourbon.' My favorite combo is a wheated bourbon, a rye-forward bourbon, and something from a craft distillery — you get the full range of Kentucky bourbon in three stops."
— Ron, Lead Tour Guide at BourbonTown Tours (3,000+ tours since 2012)
The Barrel Crawl experience at BourbonTown Tours offers private transportation to 3 distilleries in a touring region. You can select the distilleries from our list below. We will take your group to each stop where the group can enjoy a standard cocktail or tasting. Additionally, your party will be able to check out the grounds and gift shop, where they can purchase bottles they may not be able to find closer to home. If there’s extra time, our drivers will even stop off at other places in the region.
This experience does not include any formal tours of the facility. However, every distillery listed has plenty to offer outside of production.
Tour tickets are subject to 6% KY sales tax. Driver is gratuity is up to the discretion of the client and can be added to the invoice or settled up at the end of the experience. Cash is preferred.
A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to make the initial reservation. The deposit is applied to the total cost of the tour. Remaining balance is due no later than 2 weeks prior to touring.
Vehicle is strictly reserved for allotted hours according to the pre-planned itinerary. Additional transportation will be billed at a rate of $100 hour.
A Barrel Crawl is a bourbon tasting tour focused on drinking, not touring facilities. You visit 3 distilleries in one day, skip the production tours, and go straight to the tasting rooms and gift shops. Private transport included. Think of it as a bourbon bar crawl across Kentucky’s best distilleries.
A Custom Tour typically includes full distillery tours with production facility walkthroughs, detailed bourbon education, and 2-4 stops. A Barrel Crawl skips the educational part and focuses on tasting at 3 stops. It’s faster, more casual, and perfect for groups who already know their bourbon and just want to drink.
The Barrel Crawl focuses on distillery tastings. Lunch is not included, but we can build in a lunch stop at a bourbon restaurant between distillery visits. Just let us know when you book.
1-14 guests. Smaller groups (2-6) ride in luxury SUVs. Larger groups (7-14) ride in our Mercedes Sprinter van.
Yes. You pick 3 distilleries from the available options, or ask Ron for his recommended Barrel Crawl combinations. He has specific combos built around tasting variety. One example: a wheated bourbon stop, a rye-forward bourbon stop, and a craft distillery to round it out.
