What makes a birthday day work
The birthday days that work best put the guest of honor's favorite bottle at the center of the route. If they drink Maker's Mark, we build a Bardstown and beyond day and end with red wax dipping in Loretto, where the visit is covered and the dipped bottle is theirs to buy. If they drink Old Forester or Angel's Envy, a downtown Louisville day keeps everyone off the highway, though Old Forester is closed Sunday and Monday. If they collect, Heaven Hill's You Do Bourbon lets them fill, cork, band and label their own bottle. Send the guest of honor's favorite bourbon with your dates and we route the day around it.

Can the birthday guest dip or fill their own bottle?
Yes, at several stops. Maker's Mark runs red wax dipping, James B. Beam runs the Knob Creek bottling line, and Heaven Hill runs You Do Bourbon, where you fill, cork, band and label a bottle. Standard distillery experiences are included; premium and VIP add-ons are quoted on your planning call. The bottle dipped at Maker's Mark is the guest's to buy.
Can we plan a themed party around the tour?
Yes, within the tour format. We build the route around the theme, such as one driving cluster, one brand family or the hands-on stops, and the group brings the rest. BourbonTown Tours runs distillery tours, so bars and other venues go on a Transportation Only booking with a 4-hour minimum.
Is there an age limit on a birthday bourbon tour?
Yes. You must be 21 to consume alcohol, and some experiences may require all attendees to be 21, so tell us if anyone in the group is under 21 and we confirm each stop when we build the itinerary. A guest who does not drink still rides along and takes the distillery tours. Non-drinkers pay the full per-person rate.
How far ahead should we book a birthday tour?
Two to four months ahead is best. Fall and spring weekends fill first, so plan earlier for those seasons. We can sometimes build a day on a week's notice, but distillery tours may already be full. If Buffalo Trace matters to the birthday guest, reach out at least 10 weeks ahead. Send the date and headcount through the form and we reply the same day between 8 AM and 8 PM Eastern.
